What are Duskie Adventures?
Summer Camp fun all year long! The summer might be over, but the fun never ends! Join us for one of our Duskie Adventures! Duskie Adventures are weekend adventure trips for campers currently enrolled in 6th - 8th grade. Experienced campers and first-time overnight campers are both welcome to participate in Duskie Adventures. No prior experience is necessary for any of the trips. Renew old friendships from the summer and make new ones! Some of your favorite summer camp counselors will be back at Chestnut Ridge, leading some amazing trips to locations all over the state! Tell your church, bring your friends, but don't miss out on the Duskie Adventures!
When are Duskie Adventures?
Sep 11-13, Sea Kayaking AdventureTravel to our sister camp, Camp Don Lee, for a weekend of sea kayaking along the NC coast. Cost: $285
Nov 13-15, Caving AdventureEnjoy exploring Worley's Cave near Bluff City, TN. Learn about the geology of the region and the different cave formations. Campers will actually spend the night camping in the cave! Don't miss this one of a kind trip! Cost: $325
Jan 8-10, "Big Freeze" Camping TripThe temperatures might be low, but that doesn't stop us from great camp adventures. Join us for a camping experience like none other on the "Big Freeze" camping trip. Cost: $240
Feb 26-28, Mountain Biking AdventureCampers ride their bikes over the hills and through the mud on this adventure. We'll ride on the trails around Chestnut Ridge, and also take a day trip Little River Park which has awesome trails specifically designed for mountain bikes. Cost: $240
Mar 28-Apr 1, Spring Break Backpacking Adventure on the Appalachian Trail Campers ride their bikes over the hills and through the mud on this adventure. We'll ride on the trails around Chestnut Ridge, and also take a day trip The Appalachian Trail is one of the greatest natural treasures of the Eastern United States. Join us for a week-long hike along the NC-TN border. No experience is necessary. Our skilled staff can teach everything from packing your backpack, to fire building, and cooking on the trail. This beautiful trail has been enjoyed by hikers since the 1930s. Come and see what everyone is talking about. The AT is the place to be! Cost: $500
Mar 28-Apr 1, Spring Break Horse Camping AdventureCampers spend the week riding horses on the trails of beautiful Uwharrie National Forest, swimming in Baden Lake and camping at Canebrake Campground. The riding trails in Uwharrie are challenging and fun! Riders should be comfortable riding all gaits, saddling and handling horses. Cost: $500
Apr 23-25, White Water Rafting Adventure Raft down the Nantahala River in duckies with guides from the NOC. This has always been a summer favorite, now join us for a great weekend of whitewater! Cost: $275
May 21-23, Canoe AdventureOn this three day, two night adventure, campers will pack their belongings in the canoe and paddle down the historic New River in western NC. We will camp at New River State Park campsites set up along the river. Cost: $285
How to Sign Up
No experience is necessary! Don't let a lack of equipment keep you from signing up. If you need certain items (backpack, mountain bike, etc) contact the camp. We have a limited amount of equipment that campers can borrow for these adventures.
Campers can sign up for one adventure, or all of them. Each adventure will be different and unique, but they all offer new experiences and fun times! Register online or submit the Year Round Camps Registration Form with your payment. We'll see YOU on our next exciting adventure!
