The Community Farm at Chestnut Ridge is a 17 acre property adjacent to Chestnut Ridge Camp and Retreat Center in Efland, NC. The Farm is home to a variety of livestock: pigs, chickens, goats, cattle, and horses, two honeybee hives, a large community garden, and a new orchard. We grow fruits, vegetables, meat, eggs, and dairy products to serve in the dining hall of Chestnut Ridge Camp and Retreat Center and also to share with our neighbors.
The Community Farm is open to the community during the growing season on Saturdays from 9 AM – noon and at various other times during the week. Check our calendar for days and times. When you come to the Farm, we provide the tools, supplies, and instructions; you provide the helping hands. In exchange, you get to take home a portion of the harvest of the day to enjoy at your table. All ages are welcome. No green thumb is required.
